Primary pupils get competitive

Primary school pupils from across Worcester recently enjoyed a morning of competitive athletics at Bishop Perowne, organised by Year 9 GCSE PE students.

A total of 120 children from St Barnabas CofE Primary School, St George's CofE Primary School, Perdiswell Primary School and Northwick Manor Primary School enjoyed activities including foam javelin, chest throw with a weighted ball and vertical, long and triple jumps.

By the time the last track event took place any school could have won the day, but St Barnabas CofE Primary School came out on top.

Mark Pollard, Headteacher, commented:

"Congratulations to all primary school pupils who took part in the event, in particular those from St Barnabas. Judging by the cheering that was going on in the sports hall throughout the morning, they all thoroughly enjoyed an example of the type of sports lessons they will receive when they move up to secondary school.

"Our students worked extremely hard on leading the activities and translating information learnt in the classroom to put on a fantastic morning of sport, well done to them all."
