Statutory Inspection Reports (OFSTED & SIAMS)

OFSTED Inspection

OFSTED (the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills) visit schools and ensure that students are getting the best possible education. They will comment on areas where our students are doing particularly well and often make suggestions on how we can alter the way we do things for our student's benefit.

Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)

The principal objective of SIAMS inspection is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of Bishop Perowne as a Church School, and how well the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the School ensure the development and achievement of the whole child or young person.

The purposes of SIAMS inspection are:

  • to provide an evaluation of the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the Church School for the Governing Board, the School, the parents, the diocese/district, the National Society or Methodist Church and the wider public
  • to meet the requirements of Section 48 of the Education Act 2005 for schools which have a religious character
  • to verify the outcome of the school's self-evaluation
  • to make a significant contribution to improvement in Church schools.

The last inspection of Bishop Perowne CE College took place in July 2018, in which the school was graded as Good overall with the Leadership and Management of the school graded as Outstanding.  Download or view the latest Bishop Perowne SIAMS inspection report.
