Pastoral Care

At Bishop Perowne we strive to reach high academic standards within a caring and supportive environment that recognises students as individuals.

We place students into tutor groups made up of peers from their own year group and have developed teams of specialised tutors able to support students effectively at the various stages of their secondary school career. Your son or daughter will have three tutors during their time with us and should you have any pastoral concerns you wish to share, the tutor is the first and main point of contact for you. Each year group is led by a Head of Year who coordinates the support required for students.

Our extended student support team includes a nurture base team, who provide emotional and social support to students in the lower school as required. The most popular member of the nurture base staff is Boris the Golden Retriever!  He works full-time and is an expert at providing quiet and calm companionship for students accessing nurture support. As you can imagine he has many regular visitors, which of course, he adores.

Our inclusion team work with students in the upper school who need support accessing mainstream lessons, or maybe need restorative work around their decision making in school. The Learning Base allows students to continue with their core, academic lessons whilst they receive this additional support.

The common feature of all staff working in our care and support team is a desire to allow each student to reach their full potential. They are an inspiring group of people to work with.
